It's carnaval time!
This year, the Las Palmas carnaval runs from 18th January to 9th February. The Canarians like their carnavals! There's lots of stuff going on, with lots of fancy dress competitions, the Carnaval Queen competition, and not forgetting the Drag Queen Gala! The carnaval arrives here in Maspalomas on Thursday 7th February with the Welcome Parade and runs right through until the 17th February.
Dates of interest:
08/02/08 - The Carnaval Queen Competition, starting at 9pm
14/02/08 - The Carnaval Drag Queen Competition, starting at 9pm
16/02/08 - The main Carnaval Parade followed by the big night party!
Nearly all of the events will be taking place in the Yumbo Centre, so if you're on holiday over here during these dates, make sure you pay a visit!
